Frequently Asked Questions

  • Catholic accreditation is unique in a world of secular accrediting agencies because it asks Catholic schools to evaluate every aspect of the school in light of their Catholicity. This integration is missing in secular accreditations, which hampers a Catholic school’s ability to further and to grow in their unique mission.

  • Lumen Accreditation, offered through The Catholic University of America, advances and promotes the distinctive excellence of K-12 Catholic school education. Guided by Christ and illumined by the Church’s rich educational heritage, we accompany Catholic school communities as they strive for continuous growth in fulfilling their mission.

Lumen Accreditation ignites renewal, illuminates pathways, and transforms hearts to foster the full flourishing and distinctive excellence of our nation's K-12 Catholic schools.

  • It was paramount to JPG leadership to select a mission-aligned accrediting partner. We believe strongly that our Catholic identity permeates all aspects of school life -- from curriculum development, to hiring and retention practices, to back-office processes. We are confident that Lumen Accreditation will not simply tolerate our Catholic principles, but will support them and allow them to guide the accreditation process. The result will be a Catholic high school poised to meet high expectations in curricular, pedagogical, and organizational areas: but most importantly, to achieve the spiritual and evangelistic goals of the Catholic school, as well.
